Kimmie and Scott — Engaged!

The day after I flew back to California from D.C., I had a photo session. And it was an awesome one, to boot! I met Kimmie and Scott in San Francisco and we visited various locations in the city for their engagement session. Enjoy these images!

April, Head Shots and Portraits

My roommate April is graduating from Wheaton College in Illinois this semester, so I was happy to take a few portraits so she could post an updated photo on her social media sites. She is a great godly woman and it’s been a pleasure to live with her this semester. Good luck April! I’ll be rooting for you from California.

Photo Ministry in Washington D.C.

While studying in D.C., it was one of my goals to serve the community with my gifts. I volunteered at the local crisis pregnancy center, which gave me the idea to offer free photo sessions to families who usually can’t afford to pay for nice, professional portraits. A few of my friends tagged along and the day turned out better than I ever could have imagined. I couldn’t stop laughing behind the camera! [Yes, my friends did make fun of me … ] I became aware of the blessings I take for granted — even the simple fact that I can go out and take nice photos with my friends. So, enjoy these images! I am so happy to share them with you.

And here’s a bit of a look behind the scenes (for those of you who don’t know, that’s me in the striped dress):

Dave and Carissa — Engaged!

Dave and Carissa are friends of my parents. I was able to take their engagement photos when I was home last month for Easter. They’re such a fun, happy couple — I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer (located in Livermore, my hometown)!

Sara and Casey — Engaged!

This engagement session was so fun — I spent the afternoon driving around with these two and taking photos all over D.C.! Sara is one of my roommates; her and Casey got engaged at the tail end of last year. They’re both from Kentucky but I might be able to fly out from California to capture their wedding in the summer of 2014. Love these two!

Rose and Douglas are expecting!

Rose happens to be one of my professors at the Washington Journalism Center in Washington, D.C. So, like Abigail, I felt so blessed when she asked me to do a maternity session with her and her husband Douglas. This was my first maternity session (and theirs, too!), so it will be memorable, of course!

Abigail and Ryan − Engaged!

Abigail is one of the administrators for the abroad program where I am currently studying. I was so thrilled when she asked me to take her engagement photos! Both her and her fiancé Ryan worked in the Capitol Building at some point, so the location was special to them. Although I won’t be photographing their wedding, I felt honored to capture this special moment in their lives. Wishing them a happy marriage!
